Trick or Treat!??!
Happy Halloween and Autumn 🙂 There were so many great pictures of Yosemite, I thought I’d add a few more and some others from the Farmers Market today. We have so many winter squash, they’re so unique and delicious. Try a new recipe with winter squash…soup, puree, baked – they’re so delicious and seasonal! Time is flying. Jake and I had a wonderful time exploring Yosemite National Park all last week. We went on a handful of hikes, that as the title states, totaled to 40 miles and 7,000 feet in 3 days…it was no “vacation” 🙂 On day one we hiked inside Yosemite Valley and saw Nevada Falls, Vernal Falls, and then came back down on the John Muir trail, which gave a breathtaking view of Half Dome, Nevada Falls, and Liberty Cap. We also did a short hike to Bridalveil Falls. On the second day we went up 2,000 feetish to about 9,000 feet above sea level to Elizabeth lake. Elizabeth Lake is snuggled up in the mountains and is accessed from Tuolumne Meadows, which is in north of the valley. The last day we started by Tenaya Lake and went to the summit of Cloud’s Rest. This was the best hike, we ended on a knifes edge of rock at 9,968 feet and we were looking down on Half Dome, the valley, and back up the northern path of the park. The weather was perfect for late October, 70s during the day and 50s at night. If you ever get the chance to backpack or hike in Yosemite, do it! And block out more than a 6 days.
